Hello,
as I really appreciate your comments in my WIP previously published, I'll try to share another one.
I built Fokker D.VII (Fok) early in Rudolf Berthold's marking. RB had 44 victories during Great War, he survived the conflict but died on March 15th 1920 during political street fighting in Hamburg.
I used WnW kit 32067 with some additions, mainly LF model propeller, Taurus engine goodies, HGW seatbelts, Gaspatch Spandaus, Barracuda intake manifold and awesome Aviattic decals for streaked fuselage and lower lozenge. Drooling bulldog and GSI C paints were used.

I started with ammo magazines, which had to be thinned down. I modified them too to install Gaspatch ammo belts.
-
...
-
It's a start and ya gotta start somewhere.
-
Good start. The new belts should make a nice addition!

I forgot to mention in first note that kit is built already and this would be just the retrospective view :)
Next pieces were fuel tank and completed ammo box.
-
Continuing with interior basic colors. I love BD interior gray-green and unbleached linen, which was used on this one too.
Wood and leather replicated with oil paints.
-
Parts dry-fitted and partially weathered.
-
All wooden surfaces received thin coat of Tamiya clear orange, some details were hand brushed and cockpit floor weathered. I also added rigging.
-
I appreciate your build logs. We get to see the processes without the delays waiting for the next step to be finished 8) Excellent work on the pit!

Beautiful interior painting, the seat looks real enough to sit on.

Great start and wonderful work, so far!
I will follow with interest as I built this kit in the very same markings last year.

Some very fine detailed work there. I agree with Richie that if the seat was a bit bigger, I could sit on it!
Stephen.

Thanks!
I added some details, put all decals and finished instruments with two-component epoxy from HPH models to simulate glass. Some weathering was also applied.
-
HGW seatbelts installed and weathered to seat.
-
Started with Mercedes D.IIIa engine. Some goodies by Taurus and Barracuda were used to enhance it.
-
Some basic colors.
-
Sparplugs and wiring.
-
The engine looks outstanding! The extra details really make a difference.

Thanks!
With ignition wiring finished I fitted engine to fuselage construction. Barracuda intake manifold looks nice to me, I just had to remove ports for water injection pipes.
I also prepared fuel lines and throttle control mechanism.
-
With exhaust completed and thinned down as much as possible the engine was ready to fix it to fuselage. I added some weathering too.
-
With engine fixed to fuselage construction I also connected fuel lines and throttle lever rod to engine. Then I dry fitted all covers, removed cowl nuts from them and primed with surfacer.
-
More outstanding detail work! I hope you left at least some of the panels off to show the detail ;D

Sure, all removable :)
I finished exhaust thining and give it basic metal color.
-
Aviattic decals were awesome, much better than original offering.
-
I sprayed blue. I used Drooling bulldog prussian blue, which is awesome and transparent a little, but today I think I should add some white, it looks to dark to me.
-
Lovely decal and paint work!

Wow - moving fast on this one!
Lovely work on the engine and as Rick has already said, good paint and decalling.

Good progress. I like how the painted over cross is still visible. Nice detail.
-
Quite enjoyable to see your Fok. early build Martin. Very impressive work indeed.
Cheers,
Gary

Lower lozenge by Aviattic are simply perfect. As it is transparent, I preshaded base.
-
...
-
I used kit lozenge as base under blue color on wings as it is almost invisible. As written before, I think that blue would receive some white to tone it down, but I found that too late to fix it :)
Upper wing just dry-fitted on this picture
-
Landing gear weathered and attached to fuselage.
-
Exhaust attached and weathered.
Then I added Gaspatch guns and other details in front of cockpit before attaching upper wing.
-
With LF propeller and struts painted I finished it.
-
Lovely painting and decalling! This one turned out Beautifully!
