Thanks Alexis - I've posted it before so didn't want to put up too many but thought it most appropriate for the day.
Actually it's an old model that I don't have any more, made it for an IPMS competition back in the 80s or 90s - but it was disqualified as the judges thought the prop was made of wood!!!!! (It wasn't, it's red plastic underneath!)
(it's the old Merit/Smer 1/43 kit)
Cheers

Very nice sandy, and very appropriate for the day as you say. Just curious, why would a wood prop disqualify this beauty??
Cheers,

Thanks Lance. Back in the last century (!) IPMS rules stated only plastic could be used in competition models. Seems ridiculous now, but this was before PE brass, resin AM etc. You can imagine how annoyed I was that the 'judges' thought it Too realistic to be true!
In fact, Airfix were sponsoring the event (in Glasgow) and felt bad about it, so made me a special award of their brand new 1/24 Harrier kit - which was very nice of them (if a little inappropriate for a 1/48 WWI modeller!)

I build some Strip down models already, but hey - that is a real strip down here! WOW, very nice!
And metal struts was also not allowed at that time? Crazy.

Cheers,
