My latest sailplane model - the SZD-9 Bocian (stork) D. This is a two place plane designed in the late 1940s/early 1950s and was developed into a couple of different variants. I had built the E variant previously, which was optimized for training. This variant is optimized for competition and has held as many as 29 world records.

I'm working on the canopy now and after that, it will be finished. More pictures to follow.

Really nice clean work Ken :)
Did you add anything to the cockpit ? That is some nice detailing in there .

Hello Alexis.
I added a few things - placard decals, the red and white canopy release knobs, the yellow towline release handle on the IP.
The harnesses are PE items from the kit.

Looks awesome Ken!
I’ve got a couple of Ardpol kits in the stash.

Not a bad shelf model, but some of the decals disintegrated due to age and there are a couple of alignment issues that are not immediately noticable.
It will take its place in my sailplane collection.

Looks very smooth Ken! Nice.

A lovely result! Great model of a significant sailplane... Regards, Marc

First class model. I for one cannot see any misalignments so I doubt whether others will when it is in your collection.

Very neat all around. An eye candy.

I almost finished the theory course 43 years ago, but then the flight medic didn't give his "go". The "Bocian" would have been my first airplane, on the ground I already knew it very well. 43 years, where has the time gone?
Thanks for the nice reminder Ken!
Only the cockpit glass looks strange to me. My memory did not deceive me, may be that was another variant.

Thanks for checking in, everyone.
Frank, you may be thinking of the 'E' variant, which is a trainer.
