My first CSM model and I hope not the last one. Quite a pleasant build so far (despite some unorthodox engineering): the cockpit assembly well under way, main struts ready, upper wing put together just like the rear fuselage - the seams are being treated.

Your usual clean and Impressive painting and construction Przemol! Lovely start to a Great kit.

Looking really good! Have you used tubing to 'lock' the wires attaching to the turnbuckles? That too looks really neat.
/Fredrik
-
Thank you, Rick and Fredrik.
Yes, the turnbuckles are secured with tube sections.
And the cockpit is completed.

As always, I love to see a Nieuport being built. It's looking great.
Kevin

Excellent beginning on the Noop, Prze!
I'm looking forward to the middle and the end ;)

Looking really nice Przemo! What paint did you use for the blue parts? Looks spot on to me. ;D Carry on!
Best regards,
Bob
-
Even better with the seat and other items installed!
RAGIII
-
:o I'm speechless, quality of your works are extraordinary Przemek!
-
Excellent timing, I’ve just taken delivery of one of these, albeit the late one, so I can do Baracca’s mount again.
Bookmarked for reference 👍
-
Look great -I like the contrast the blue offers :)
-
Thank you, everybody.
The blue is a custom mix of Vallejo Azul mate and Gris claro. Roughly 2:1.
-
Superb!
-
I continue with this build. Currently making up the mess with that unbelievable split of the fuselage into far too many elements.

In spite of the complex assembly your Nieuport is looking excellent Przemol!
RAGIII

Yes , it is a bit complex , but still though . Excellent work so far !
Terri

Very interesting, you are doing a great work as usual!

Thank you!

Engine and prop look gorgeous Przemol!

What do you use for your copper paint ?
I don't care for the Tamiya and looking for a better alt .
Terri

Your project is coming along very well, Prze. As always - the detail and painting touches are excellent.
Cheers,
Gary

Thank you, everyone.

Will I? I missed the point, sorry ;)

Terri
Vallejo Acrylic Metal Color Cobre (not Model Color!). Actually all the metal colours except Brass, which I use recently, are from this line (sadly, they do not have brass Metal Color)
-
Thanks Przemol for the reply .
I already used the metal coats for natural metal finishes , but I haven't see the copper at the local shop . Going to source some out .

Thanks again Przemol ,
Will be calling the LHS to see if the have it in stock , it's listed on their web site , but doesn't state if it's in stock or not .

Hi Prez
Do you ever brush paint the Copper. I’ve the model air copper, which I brush painted for my dolphin and I was a bit underwhelmed with the results. Your engine looks much smoother.
Thanks.

I limit brush painting as much as possible. Especially for the metallic colours - I use the airbrush.

Nice engine Przemol - as usual. Do you have the fuse painted?

Not yot, the last preparations are underway. :)
-
Lovely work on the engine, Prze.
I have bookmarked the copper for future purchase.
Cheers,

-
Thank you, Bob.
And here finally some colours are applied. This time I decided to start with the upper sides. It should be easier to mask them and after this paint the underside linen colour with the rim overlapping onto the edges.

Nice job on the camo P ! It is easier some times to spray the top and mask that then spray the underside . I do this with some of my WW 2 builds . Looking forward on the underside and the trim :)
Terri
-
The camo looks great and I Love the colors!
RAGIII

Outstanding work all around Prez! The engine and prop are eye catcher and the camo scheme seems a bit unusual, must be some special unit or something. I have to say (Write) that what impresses me most though is your "High Tech" Model working stand. ;) I have something almost identical to that.
Looking forward to the "Rest of the Story."
-
Thank you.
... the camo scheme seems a bit unusual, must be some special unit or something.
Now I see I have taken too much freedom with free hand airbrushing. And I think I will have to correct it. Thanks for pointing it out.
-
Nice and clean work, going to be another lovely plane of yours.
Ciao

Thank you.

I think you misunderstood my comment I was referring to the colors seemed different from the usual Nieuport Camouflage scheme. Not a reference to the freehand airbrush. I think it looks great as is.
-
Superb work, as usual Przemo! I like your interpretation of the camouflage colours! Your build speed never fails to amaze me... Regards, Marc.
-
Anyway, I have corrected the pattern to resemble better what was in the CSM instruction ;)
As for the colours they are a little bit off in the photos, the WB in my phone is not collaborating 😉
And thank you Marc for your usually overly kind comments 🙂

Nice looking paint, Przemol. I wasn't sure what Mark was referring to with his comment. Glad he clarified. But who can say exactly what the colors should be?

Looks Gorgeous...as it did before 8)

Really impressive work as usual...Dan

Looks great!
For small parts with brass or copper metal colours, I paint them silver or aluminium first, then use copper, brass or bronze -somehow these last 3 are more transparent then the first 2 and it gives a (to me) pleasing effect -even with the brush. :)

Thank you, everyone.

Indeed, who can? :) And these colours will be further modified with shading and later covered with satin varnish, so the colour intensity will change, too.

Jeroen
Yes, brush painting is apparently problematic due to the semi-transparency. But I noticed no problems when airbrushing, especially using the Metal Color Vallejo paints. Model Color Vallejo Brass is a differnt story, though. I wish they would add this color to Metal Color series.
-
Airbrushing and decalling basically completed. Now for some shading and... the final assembly!

Terri

Beautifully done Przemol! As always your work is crisp and clean!
RAGIII
-
Hi Prez: I see now as it's all coming together. It's really looking the business alright. The thin line on the upper wing is nice and crisp and sets off the camouflage nicely. Outstanding as per usual Prez.
-
Very neat!

Thanks...
Shading and staining mostly done. Closer and closer 😉

Hi Przemol! Excellent work as always! How did you fix the clear parts on the upper wing ?
Regards Jörg

Thank you.
Hi Przemol! Excellent work as always! How did you fix the clear parts on the upper wing ?
Regards Jörg
After some testing on concave and convex surfaces I gave up the Clearfix and used tiny blobs of a gel CA glue - on the concave underside three dots at the centre and on the convex upperside - three at each edge - at the trailing and leading edges. A bit tricky and not fully clean work, but quite acceptable. I managed to avoid the CA mist on the transparent areas.
-
Thank you for your hint and tip, very useful for my Nie. 17!
Jörg

WOW!! Very nice!

Thank you, Frank.
The last bits went faster than I expected, so I can call my first adventure with CSM completed. Now, where is that promised Caudron G.III?

Looks great! I really like the overall finish you've achieved. That light outline on the topwings catches ones eye and really make the model stand out.
/Fredrik

PzezmoL,
Fantastic build, you can't have too many Nieuports around here.
Kevin
-
That's a beautiful model, Sir!
And if they do put out a Caudron G.III, that would lure me into the large scale.

Thank you gentlemen, I am glad you like it. And just a brief info - I have just sent the full proper gallery to the appropriate forum section.
