Title: Looking for 1/72 Ardpol kits
Post by: Gisbod on August 13, 2020, 02:33:15 AM
Hi all,

I’m enjoying my LVG build, and I’ve already managed to blag a DH9 off of SP! (many thanks SP, much appreciated  ;D )

I was just wondering whether anyone else had an Ardpol kit in their stash that they wouldn’t mind passing on?

Happy to pay whatever the going rate is & postage obviously.

You’d be rewarded with a full build log in glorious Technicolor  8)

Cheers,

Guy

Thank you Guy. I was unlikely to build it and it is a kit worth building.
Enjoy

There are very few Ardpol kits left in shops. Take a look here:

Misterkit - https://www.misterkit.com/shop/complex/category/20110112/brand/17040770/scala/49
Polish Made - https://polish-made.com/pl/c/ARDPOL/100

You may also want to look at Karaya, they have 6-7 high quality WWI aircraft kits -

Thanks, yes, I had seen those, but actually not much WW1 wise. I’ve already ordered the Manchester, got the LVG - the only other possibility is the Polish Hannover, but I really wanted the German one (I know I’m being picky...). I may go back to that failing al else.

I haven’t seen a Karaya kit, but if you think the quality is equal to Ardpol, I will have a look.

The German decals of the Ardpol CL.V are very basic, just crosses (see photo), should be no problem finding them elsewhere. Otherwise they are quite similar.
You can download the instructions here: https://www.super-hobby.co.uk/products/Hannover-CL.V-Niemcy.html

Karaya kits are excellent, equal if not better than Ardpol. I have four of them and Just ordered the last two - Short 830 Seaplane and Supermarine N.1B.
I'll skip the Blackburn Blackburd, it's a serious entry to the 'ugliest airplane ever' competition...

Great!

That’s very helpful, thanks  ;)

Yes, some way out whacky aircraft in the Karaya range!
