Model is plane flown by Ltn. Stanislav Maria Tomicki von Tomice 153.173 Romagnano airfield of Flik3/J summer 1918.

I enjoyed painting this model. I tried to use the same steps as the factory. Two shades of green were used over factory finish.

Roden Albatros D.III models have a very small lower wing dihedral. If it is not correct then the struts will not fit. This seems to also be true of their D.V. Rigging is .059 Nitinol wire. Kit decals were used. Some cockpit detail added.

Water pipes were painted copper wire. Broke a few struts along the way but luckily I can borrow from the Roden Albatros D.II extras. I used small pieces of foam rubber to paint the green shades. It was primarily Misterkit AH05 with some Grey-green Mister kit FR09.

That is a very impressive model and in the True Scale too. The finish is very good - some useful tips there for when I go back to this scale on another project..
