Here I present my 'Tommy' - the Thomas Morse S4C, an advanced trainer used by the US in WW1. I think it is a significant aircraft due to almost every US aviator in the WW1 era trained in it.
There are no kits of this plane in this scale and I have never seen a 1/32 model of one. This one has a resin Vector Gnome engine with a machined aluminum front crankcase, a turned aluminum cowling, and a mix of Gaspatch resin and Eduard PE turnbuckles. There are a few issues here and there, but for the most part not too serious.
For those that are interested, there is a build thread in the Scratchbuilt sub forum.
I hope you enjoy the pictures. Thanks for looking in!

Ah, what kit was that now? :-)
Ken, that is a real masterpiece of scratch built modeling. It has been both a pleasure and an education watching it come together. Thanks for all the extra time and effort you took to take us all along for the ride.

Comments? Well, this would already be a great model if it were built as a kit. But knowing that it is scratch lifts it to a completely different level. Fantastic modelling!

A scratchbuild is just a kit that starts with less refined parts, however it requires a more refined modeler. Looks like this Tommy got lucky with an extremely refined modeler.

A few challenges along the way , but you have built one beautiful model Ken :)

Thanks for all the comments, my friends. These scratchbuilds take a long time and your support is greatly appreciated.

That is a great looking Scout! Your scratch built biplane looks better as one done with help of a kit because all of those small details, like the cowling lockers.
I will be glad, if I can build it in 1/48 from the resin kit I own and the reasult is nearly looking like yours.
Cheers,
Frank

Thanks for weighing in, Frank, Lance, and Rick.
Frank, I'm sure you will do that kit justice.
Now I'll do a few injection molded kits before the next scratchbuild.

Ken, I join in the above accolades. This is simply a beautiful example of the scratch builders art--superior modeling all around! Outstanding!
Best regards,
