Hi all,
Here's the completed resin WW1 Macchi M.5 fighter sea plane in 1:32nd scale (HPH Models).
Macchi M.5, Serial No.7288 as flown by Tenente Vascello Alberto Bartolozzo, Officer Commanding No.260a Squadriglia, operating from Saint Andrea Seaplane Station near Venice during 1918.
As usual a full and detailed build log in PDF format will be available from my web site soon,
Mike

Totally beautiful. One of my favorite aircraft and you have done her proud. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your build and learning what is possible and how you achieved it. Thanks so much for going to all the trouble to share it along the way.

What can I add to what these gentlemen have already written. This is one of those models that I could sit and look at for a long time and still keep finding more fine details. Your build log was a joy to follow too.

Absolut beauty Mike!
You may guide EVERY modeller that want to build one.
Simple and powerful diorama.
As Italian, I may say thank you for this fantastic build of one of our sea fighters.

Thanks to you all for your encouragement and comments - much appreciated.
It's now back onto the Port Victoria PV.7 'Grain Kitten' I started a while ago.
Unlike the Macchi, the 'Kitten' will probably be the smallest 1:32nd scale model I'll build,

I have followed your build with interest, Mike, and she has come out really well
The Macchi M5 is one of my favourite WWI 'planes, and I just couldn't justify buying this kit. I was considering scratch building one before the kit came out, I think you may have persuaded me that that is the right approach ;D

Oh my dear. The best rendition of M.5 I have ever seen. Great details added to the crude starting material and absolutely top notch paint finish.
Now I will have to wait quite a time before I dare to start and show off my effort on this kit, which is waiting in my stash. Still, I thank you Mike for your build log which will be enormously useful for me when that time comes.

That is not a model, that is a small original seaplane! Fantastic in all aspects!
It will be the template for mine in 1/48. But for sure I cannot do all that details in smaller scale.
Cheers,
Frank
