At the age of about eight I built my first models. At this point, nearly 40 years later, I can't remember what aircraft they were. but one was a biplane. The Albatros D.III and D.V are my first efforts in this field since then. I'm quite pleased with the results and here are quite a few pictures. Thanks for looking!

If those are your first efforts at building biplanes then you are going to have to work hard in future to improve on them. They are a beautiful pair - something to be truly proud of. The build log was also very informative too.

Awesome job Fredrik...they're beautiful.

That's a pair of truly stunning Albatrosen, Fredrik! Your wood tones are sublime and your props are gorgeous. If these are your first in 40 years, I can only imagine how marvelous your future projects will be. Can't wait to see more from you.
Cheers,
Bud

Thank you for your positive comments! I should emphasize the fact that these are my first biplane efforts in 40 years. I do have some modelling experience from other fields though.

Real gems, Frederik. So clean built and painted. Great decent weathering and a perfect imitation of the woodstructure and colour.
I am looking forward to your next build.

Beautiful pair Fredrik, congratulations.

Great job on both planes. Loved what you did with the fuselage wood grain.

I agree completely with My Amigo! I really enjoyed watching these come together on your build log!

First - thank you Rip v. Winkle, Juan Manni and RAGIII, for your positive comments!
Second - I thought I'd mention that the props are made using paper after being inspired by an article about paper propellers written by forum founder Des. Not that difficult to get a decent result.

Stunning pair of Albies Fredrik, as I just commented on your other Jasta V Albatros Thread the finish work is superb. Apparently the 40 years you spent in other areas of the hobby served you well, your WW.I skills are very impressive! I look forward to your next projects.
Cheers,

Thank you for your very kind words, Lance! There are of course always things you wish you would have done differently. I suppose that's partly why one build new models - the next one might turn out perfect! 😀

Really super job Fredrik,
They really look like 1/32 kits!

Thank you Gary, Paul and Andreas! I'm glad you too like the wood tones! Decals on one and oil colours on the other. I have to say that using oils is far quicker and easier.

Thanks Guy! They came out ok, but if I started them now there are many things I would do differently! /Fredrik
-
Fredrik, your models are a great re-entry into the biplane scene!
I like the outcome, only my eyes do not like the yellow fluorescent paint on the tail unit ;)
Your work with the cutting machine forces me to put such promising device to my X-mas wish list :D

Oh yes, I know that feeling! And this is even more worse, if you touch an unfinished model after long time in shelf. I would like to redo many steps already done before ::)
For the mental health it is a good thing, that we learn new things and improve with every model!
Cheers,
Frank
