All,
Here is my latest off the building board. A neat little paper model kit. I repainted the fuselage aft section as one of our modelers from Italy let me know that the printed paper kit had an error and the lettering was nonsense in Italian! Couldn't have that, so I repainted and used a black Sharpie to hand "paint" the correct logo on. Looks ok to me as the photos of the original look hand painted too. The model is unmodified and just rigged with EZ-Line. A neat addition to my paper model fleet!
Cheers and thanks for looking,
Dan

Beautiful!
It was a joy to follow the build and now it's a joy to see the result. :)

That looks great, Dan.
So, even paper models need corrections.

Another one of your fantastic looking models Dan. You make me want to try one ;D

Nice finish Dan, it really is an appealing subject and your work is very impressive! I enjoyed following you through the Build process and your corrections at the end are great modelling.

Thanks, everybody. It was a fun project and I'm glad Alberto got on my case. I didn't have the heart to add the vertical streaks and stipples seen in the photos as I thought it would make it look too messy. So my plane is after the pilot added his saying, but before they added the streaks! That's my story...
Terri: Let's see. I have paper models of a Halberstadt D-II, Fokker D-II, Albatros D-XI, Phonix D-I, a Friedrichschaffen float plane, an old and new Alabtros two seater recon plane, Nieuport 27, Albatros D-II and D-V and...I think that's it. Oh yeah! Some cool 1/72nd tanks from WWI as well.
So you see my dilemma! ::)
Cheers and thanks for looking...Dan

My apologies Dan for not seeing your build log earlier - not an area of the forum that I normally visit. This paper model looks excellent - I could never achieve the standard that you do with one of these - you make me envious!! I really like the flying boats from this period, (and it was you who introduced me to them with your Phoenix A!), and the Macchi was one of the most aesthetically pleasing of them all. A brilliant examplle of a skilled paper modeller - looking forward to seeing more from your bench.
Stephen.

Thanks, Stephen! Your scratch builds keep me coming back here for more. You'd do amazing stuff with paper.
For Terri: I think I'll try the Fokker next. I don't think there are too many 1/32nd scale Fokker D-IIs! I've included the cover of the "model" so you can see the plan. I'll keep you posted!
Cheers,
Dan
