Title: Gaspatch/Quickboost resin turnbuckles?
Post by: hiddeous1973 on June 05, 2019, 02:37:19 PM
I can not seem to find anyone using the new resin turnbuckles from either Quickboost or Gaspatch.
As Gaspatch just anounced several 1/48 versions in resin, they are interesting to me.

Does anybody here worked with them already? I would love to hear from you.

thanks, Hidde van der Donk from Holland

Hidde, They are formed better than the metal turnbuckles (no extraneous material inside the eyelet) but a little fragile so there will be some attrition. I like them but haven't as yet decided which I prefer.

Sorry not to be much help, Cheers.

I purchased the Gaspatch 1/32nd and I'm going to use these in my LVG C.VI build, hoping to tell you something soon. At a first sight they look cleaner then the metal type. I also used the Quickboost 1/48 turnbuckles un a HD1 and they went well, i my opinion; just the eyelet is slighty prominent. Here attached a picture.

I’ve used them too on my Halberstadt,

As above, neater but more fragile, although even though they were tensioned with monofilament, I didn’t actually have any breakages. Just go easy as you tension and don’t over do it... I liked ‘em.
