Title: Encore 1/32 Albatros D.II
Post by: gedmundson on May 23, 2019, 11:26:36 PM
Hi folks, I'm finished with this project and wanted to share a few photos. The kit was a challenge to build but with the extras provided in the box (Eduard etched parts and a True Details resin engine, metal wing struts) it helped the model along. I used some etched metal turnbuckles from RB productions and the figure of von Richthofen is a Model Cellar offering.

Cheers,
Gary

This is probably the BEST build of the Roden / Encore kit I have ever seen! Beautifully detailed, the wood grain is perfect , and finally the wing camo is awesome! The figure is just as well done as the DII and really adds to the build! Brilliant work!!

Gary,
As with most of your projects you've taken this one to a whole new level, just outstanding results. As I mentioned in your Under Construction thread I've found that these Kits take more then just a little extra effort and coaching to get them into the "top drawer" class, you've achieved that and more. My compliments on a really beautiful model!
Cheers,
Lance

I wrote that I was looking forward to these pictures: well I have certainly not been disappointed in any way! This is a superb model which ticks every imaginable box and more. The figure adds a realistic and human touch - the painting of aircraft and figure is brilliant.

Stephen.

Hi Gary,

That's a really nice build.  The wood grain looks great.  And, I especially like what you have done with our Richthofen - GREAT JOB !
