COMING SOON- THE DES DELATORRE MEMORIAL GROUP BUILD COMPETITION
The first anniversary of the passing of our Forum founder Des Delatorre will be marked in early February, so in Des’ memory we are going to have the biggest group build competition in the Forum’s history.
Members who are about to begin their latest WW1 build should mark their calendars for a date in February which we will announce soon.
Thanks to the kindness of several generous sponsors and supporters the GB will have an impressive prize pool of model kits and accessories.
The GB will only be open to registered members of the Forum and full details and rules will be published in February.

Very good idea. Des would be proud.
I don't know if I will be able to join, but I'm looking forward to see a lot of fantastic builds. I think there will be lots of BE2Cs. ;)

I have a long term project going on, but will be taking some time off to do a memorial group build for sure.

I'm in, Dave. I have a special kit in the stash that I was planning on dedicating to Des anyway.
Cheers,
Bud

Count me in! I've been itching to start another WWI project so this would be perfect timing. Having just purchased a CSM Nieuport 17 Late, it's definitely a candidate but there's also a Roland C.II in my WNW stash that's been calling out to me. Decisions, decisions...

Count me in :) I would love to participate and will try to go with an early WWI model, maybe a Taube, we will see.

Great idea. I am certainly in, with a WNW AEG G.IV, most probably.

Great idea,! I'll join in with a bit o' money for the prizes, as I don't build any more/not yet again...

Great idea!
I've been absent from the forum for a while but I'll join :D

Woud love to participate in Des' honour, but I'm struggling to get a model done in a year and a half... when I participate I want to know I have a reasonable chance of actually finishing within the deadline limit... I'll definately be looking in though!

This is the best way to honour Des’s memory
I will try to do my best to be part of the GB

I'm interested. I'll be looking forward to more info.

Great idea for a great man.
I've had a project in mind for a while now and it would be a fitting tribute to Des.
Whether I'd have the time to complete it - well that depends on the time frame given to the GB - hopefully I will,
Mike

Great tribute to our friend, he deserves such a celebration!
I would like to take part in it, at the moment I have the workbench completely taken by a build so it depends on the time frame for me as well.
I could join after the start if it has a long duration!
Please consider the possibility to make it a long term build so most of us will have the chance to pay this tribute.
Thanks
Antonio

Glad I saw this before it starts. I've been off site for a year due to relocation and WWII builds, but this will be perfect. I have already made preparations for another GB in Feb, hopefully the subject will fit and I can include it here too!

Des rekindled my interest in WWI aviation and now you've motivated me to actually produce something. Thank you!!

I haven't touched anything WWI in a year or maybe more. I definitely set aside time and space. Looking forward to February :)

As I've yet actually to complete a WWI1 kit yet, I think I need to take part, even if my feeble OOB skills are pale in comparison to the experts who's work I am in envy of every day. It won't be pretty but it will at least stand a chance of being completed if there is a deadline to be met...
