My entry is gonna be the old Hitech - Breguet XIV A2 Photo Version in French Markings in 1/48 scale, it is inspired on the picture attached of the escadrille BR 117. Hopefully, I will wrap up the airplane construction along with a diorama, if times permit. Wish to see someday CSM or WNW produce this magnificent French bomber
This is my first ever entry on the forum, and hope you guys like it. I decided to enter this model as my contribution to the Des Memorial Contest, even though my biplane model skills are still beginners level.

I am looking forward to seeing your work on this one. What you have done with the wing ribs looks excellent.

Oh, I was not aware, that there is a photo version of that kit. The normal version is in my stash.
What is the big brown part right bottom in your second picture?
Cheers,
Frank

Looking forward on seeing this come together :)

Now moving on with cockpit, it is a pity that the kit does not come with an engine. There's not aftermarket of the engine Renault V-12 nor I'm willing to scratch one.
The camouflage is the three WWI aircraft french colors, red-brown, light green, dark green and beige. I will try to replicate the same pattern as the picture

Now time to superglue the photoetched parts: cowling, stitching, etc. Also, I cut out holes on the fuselage floor for the windows on the camera. then I will put acetate to mimic the windows. For your information, I had to make a casting copy of the half of the fuselage, as the original came defective

And more work on the little of pieces of the cockpit: seat, seatbelts/ harnesses, stick controls, and gauge panel

Hola amigo, I was following up your Breguet XIV before, and all I can say it's a nice piece of WWI airplane work. I took many of your pictures as reference for this build. thanks!!

The PE is looking great in place. Your casting of the fuselage is exceptional and great Modeling!

I'm not sure if I can reactivate this topic and get moved to "in construction".

Fellow modelers your words are really encouraging, because of work and family issues I was not able to finish this project on time for the "Des Delatorre" contest. I hope to move along and get it completed as now we have more time during the quarantine, here are more pictures so far:

It's nice to see this back on the Board again, beautiful Build already! I really appreciate your work on the 5 Color Camo, I've bookmarked it for future reference. Nice work!

I'm moving along with more pictures, there's a lot of scratch building, the Hi-Tec kit is really poor in details. The cockpit is really finicky and not well-engineered, moreover, there are no many references available. I wish If only one day, one of the WWI manufacturers still active, either CSM or Roden, can produce someday a more accurate and well detailed Breguet XIV.

I agree...those details are sweet!

I know what you mean about the kit ( got one in the stash ) and I won't be using any of the cockpit parts . It will be full scratch built . Really like your work in the pit , very nicely done ! :)
