She's truly stunning, Amigo! My favorite aircraft of the war and you've done a masterful job with it! You've got me itchin' to start on mine.
Cheers,
Bud

Great job Rick, another one of your fantastic builds. Like your choice of markings and colors used.

Love it Rick. I have your build log shortcutted and will be reading it closely as I just received my Dolphin kit last week. (Thanks again Juan)

I'm enjoying all the pics of your completed Dolphin and have a question. What is that thing behind where the pilot's head would be? looks like a fabric curtain that can be rolled up. I really have not studied the Dolphin much, (it didn't start to grow on me until recently), and I have no idea what it is. If it is fabric of some kind, it must have made quite the racket flapping and snapping in the slipstream. Can you enlighten me?

Hi Rick,
Your Dolphin is a beauty! Upon seeing it for the first time a couple weeks ago I was inspired to order the same Pheon decals so I can do mine in the blue scheme as well.
May I ask which Vallejo blue paint you used? Thanks!
Cheers,
Eric

A real beauty! Love the blue color. Makes mine look dumpy and plain.
Neat-oh!!!!!!!!

Cracking Job Rick!
Love it

Lovely to see this one finished Rick. Just how you could complete the 2 Albatros' and this at the same time is beyond my comprehension, the more so as you have managed to maintain a consistent high standard throughout. Magnificent modelling!
Stephen.

Another top quality build, Rick! ;)

Outstanding build, Rick. Very clean build and a nice, gentle weathering.

Thanks for all of the comments Guys! In answer to a couple of questions:
1. The Blue used was Drooling Bulldog RAF Blue as a base. I then brushed some Valejo 70.92 Intense blue to darken and weather. The Valejo blu turned out to be almost an exact Match to the roundel color from WNW and was used to touch up the major tear and missing portion of one of the upper wing roundels.
2.Pretty sure the "thing behind the pilots head" is in fact a fabric curtain. I seem to recall an opion to paint it another color , perhaps leather? Would need to go back and look at the instructions.
3. Finally, I am afraid to say that I did NOT complete both of the Albatri. The DIII OAW awaits my being able to purchase a Jig. My fault entirely as I had sanded away the Cabane strut locations and Fouled up two sets of cabane struts. The good news is I have a third set available ::)

PS: Noticed three wires needing replacement. All are stretched sprue so no big thing!

Very nice work indeed, a great build. Really gives a good impression of what a Dolphin looked like (I'm just back from Hendon where they have one....).

Beautiful dolphin, I enjoyed the build and the completed model fulfills all its promises. Very well done!

Thanks Frank. I loved the scheme from the first time I saw it a number of years ago. Just needed the proper kit to get me going!
