Charles Nungesser's Nieuport 17
« on: October 12, 2014, 09:58:29 PM »
Afternoon, chaps.

I've got one half of an Eduard 'dual combo' under construction and have chosen the decal option for Nungesser's machine.

The kit instructions show the tricolor stripes on the top plane (taking the top of your screen to be the front of the aeroplane) to be thus: \ /, whereas every photo I've found on the net shows them thus: / \.

Is this a simple case of Eduard getting it wrong or is there more to it?

Thanks

You are right, Squiffy ,(/ \). I found this page that shows
the Nieuport's top wing, about half way down the page.
I look forward to seeing your model when done. :D

Yes and no
If you look at the botton of the page, Eduard is right with N1574, Albin N1571 Le Rhône 17
Be careful with N1895 Clerget Nieuport 17.
Cordialement

Thanks, chaps.

I'll go and add them as per the instructions, now backed up by a photo!  :)

also nungesser was sort of a nieuport test pilot, he had multiple nieuports of many types. research carefully.
