After reentering the scale modell hobby in 2003, one of my first attempts to build a WW I biplane was the Toko/Eastern Express Pfalz D. XII.
Up to this time, I only had done WW II planes and had no knowlege about WW I planes.
The build was done OOB, except the Lozenge decals, whixh came from Techmod.
I lost the exhaust during the construction and never found it again, so it is still missing.
The fuselage was painted with Gunze Aqueous (my favorite brand)

If it is ok to show not only the latest models here, I will show you my Fokker E. IV and my Rumpler C. IV (Vacu) which were my next trys some years ago.

For your first attempt at a WW1 aeroplane you did an exceptional job, the rigging is superb for such a small scale. Please post any photos of your models regardless of their age.

Great to have one more 72nd scaler here!
Very fine Pfalz D.XII! It is fine to see that there is still life beyond WNW and 32nd scale!
And surely you are welcome to show older builds. Please, do.

A beautiful model in any scale!

Well done Wolf, a very accomplished piece. And to think, this is one of your first WWI biplane attempts!
Best wishes

Excellent craftsmanship! What paints did you use for the camouflage?
-
Great work, even more so for a re-entry into modelling and a first WWI aircraft!

Beautiful little model, Wolf, and very impressive in a scale much smaller then I am comfortable with. Looking forward to seeing your other works you mentioned.

Thank you all for the nice comments!
@Rob: I used Gunze Acrylics on this plane.

Welcome to God's Own Scale - it is great to have another one here. Your models are extremely good - for a first attempt at a WW1 type this is no mean achievement and is very impressive. Please show us more of your work.

Beautiful model! I was wondering what were those ex-Toko kits worth, and this one looks already pretty good OOB.

Great job . . . especially the rigging! Wow!

Nice model, fuselage colours look spot on!!!!

Wonderful model! Any problems with fitting the struts?

Having built this model some time ago, I think I can answer this question, jak. The Ns were just fine but the cabane Ms required serious surgery including the change of legs lengths as well as the entire layout - Toko/EE have them coplanar while in reality they are not.

As Przemol said. The fuselage struts where realy tricky.

Truly gorgeous D.XII, Wolfgang. Excellent overall finish and rigging.
