Title: figure mod questions?
Post by: Checkers67 on April 11, 2013, 06:45:32 AM
Last week I purchased a seated pilot figure. He is missing his gogles and plan on scatch building a pair. The pilot is 54mm. I never done this. I welcome any tips or suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Not sure how well this will work, but you can also try to locate a 1/35 scale photo etch figure detail set. I know Verlinden makes some. Especially German. Thier WWII sand goggles looked similar to WWI flight goggles. Plus the fret includes round lens eye glasses that could be used. Another idea would be to scratchbuild the goggle straps out of thin sheet styrene and apply a drop of a clear drying cement with a toothpick for each lens. I guess it would mostly depend on where you planned to place them.

Just an idea.  :)

Baron and Lawman,
I like both ideas. First I need to dig through my DML figgies and assorted pilots.
Thank you for your input!
