My First --- WNW Eindecker

I have recently finished my first WW1 model.  It's my second model since returning to the hobby after a 50+ year layoff!  There are a bunch of mistakes in the build, but nothing I can't live with.  I thoroughly enjoyed the process and by the end I was actually becoming reasonably proficient assembling and installing turnbuckles.

I can't say enough good things about the quality of the WNW kit.  The fit of the pieces was remarkable.  My only criticism is they could have done a little better job with the rigging diagram - especially all of the rigging underneath the plane.  I searched through a number of other builds online and I think the rigging is at least directionally correct - but maybe not!

I think the photos make the model look a little more weathered than it looks in real life.  But the photos also do a really good job of hiding mistakes!

I have already started to build a bit of a stash of kits and I'm not 100% sure what I am on to next.

As you can tell from my forum name, the Eindecker is one of my favorite aircraft. Your build is awesome, especially after being away for fifty years. Your return to the hobby and the presence of Wingnut Wings in the market place is fortuitous. Great kits to get back into modeling. I agree that Wingnut Wings' rigging diagrams are sometimes not as precise as we would like, but thanks to the internet and their reference photographs, we can usually determine what goes where. Understanding the rigging on the eindeckers is no picnic but it looks like you got it right.

Whatever you choose for your next kit, please keep posting your progress.

You certainly have made a grand entrance into WW1 aircraft modeling with this superb model you have displayed, as others have said it is not the easiest kit to build but even after 50 years your modeling skills have shone through, well done and I look forward to seeing your next build.
