« on: January 14, 2017, 07:42:43 AM »
Here are some images taken today of the latest model - hope you enjoy them

As always I can see where I could have done things better but I'm pleased with my third attempt at WWI subject. Thanks everyone for all you input over the build - you've all been a great help and encouragement

That's it then guy's time for a short break then I think I'll tackle that Roden Nieuport 27

This is a very spectacular looking model Tug, the overall finish you have achieved is superb, the wood colours are very realistic and the wing shading is extremely well done.

She's truly magnificent, Tug!  I can only echo the previous comments.

Really lovely model Tug, great work on the detail and shading. The paint work is superb and the base sets it off beautifully, one to be very proud of.
Cheers,
Lance

Superb modelling Tug, one of the best WW1 models I have seen in years. I love your attention to detail and the groundwork.

Make sure you send photos to Wingnuts for their customer models pages.

You should rightly be proud of this gem.

Tug,
As with your two previous builds this one was a pleasure to watch as it came together! Your painting and weathering are second to none! Not overdone and very effective. As others have said your base accents the model beautifully. Extremely well done SE5  8)

Outstanding job on this one, Tug. The subtle weathering and tonal differences on the fuselage really do it for me. Well presented - as good as it gets!

'Guys'  - all of you :)

My sincere thanks for your appreciation of my early efforts in this genre. Indeed I feel quite honoured in such company for whilst I am familiar with most of the techniques used, building First War aircraft is definitely a huge difference from 'shiny big jets'- it is a very different form of modelling indeed.

I've already thanked those who've helped generally but I would like to add just how gratifying it is when people on here step up and help in the manner they have with technical and historical help over the last two builds - 'forum friends' in the truest sense.

Looking forwards to repeating it all again soon and, now I have some time, I will catch up on all of your builds too, something I feel I have neglected over recent weeks.

Enjoy your modelling too

Regards - Tug

Now that is one lovely SE5a. Superb paintwork overall  especially with the shading and the leather cockpit surround. Very nicely depicted on that base. Sets the whole thing off very well. I do like the tufted grass  as well.
