Lohner Type Tl (L75) (1/32, Lukgraph)
« on: May 31, 2023, 06:46:07 AM »
The final gallery of my attempt at the spectacular but very demanding Lukgraph kit. The model presents L75 from the first production batch of Tl type delivered in November 1915 to Pula naval base.

The kit is spectacular but some amendments were necessary imho - oil tank with installation, fuel lines to the carburettor, throttle control rods and a couple of differently led rigging lines. Also the kit options L127 and L135 should have Rapp engine - that was why I chose L75 which was powered by the Hiero engine included in the kit.

All in all it was a great modeling adventure and I do not remember building a more difficult model. Note that it is not a complaint about the kit, it just resulted from the intricacy of the Lohner flying boats structure.

Well that's a spectacular model from a spectacular kit. It was a real pleasure to follow the thread and see your careful preparation. Mind blowing!

Terrific outcome, very informative build log and a very nice airplane in general. Really great all around!
I for myself had thought I‘ve read that they changed the unreliable Rapp engines for Hieros as soon as they were available. But I cannot remember where I‘ve read this.

Triumphantly brought home, Prz, what a cracker!
When they are as difficult as this, the result is all the sweeter.
Great dramatic colours too.

Well done Prz
I think I have used up all the complementary words in the English language on your previous builds. Another great build to the same great standard.

A superb model, Przemol.  One can see it's quite complicated and the detail you have put in makes it more so.  The exposed engine is a model in itself.

Truly breathtaking work Prze, what a beauty. I know you encountered difficulties along the way but the finished model betrays none of those - bravo my friend!

Thank you everyone for the kind welcome to my model.

The engine exchange was surely possible but unfortunately all the photos of L127 and L135, which I have seen, show it with Rapp engine.
