1/48 Revell (Eduard) Roland C.II
« on: January 19, 2016, 10:13:18 PM »

Here we go! This welcome reissue from Revell surely doesn't need much in the way of introduction. The equivalent of an Eduard "Weekend Edition", it comes with a decent amount of detail OOB but without the PE bells & whistles.

Some paint going on to interior parts already. Couple of ejector pin marks to deal with (visible ones only!)

Citadel Karak Stone on as a base coat for the wood-effect.

The Master Spandau & Parabellum to replace the (still pretty decent) styrene parts).

Eduard lap belts are en-route from Hannants and I might try a small bit of scratch building, but by and large that's it.

More soon, thanks for looking.

Excellent choice, J!  This is a great kit.  Good call using the Master barrels.  I think you'll be much happier with the results than if you'd stuck with what the kit provides.  I look forward to following along.
Cheers,
Bud

Thanks, all.

Wood effect progresses, Burnt Umber acrylic over Citadel Karak Stone, then Humbrol Clear Orange and a Citadel Sepia wash. Some Citadel Oil in the engine compartment.

Hi J,

This is great progress! I do like your wood tones - and the oily grubby tones of the engine compartment... good modelling!

Marc
