Jorg,
Surgery is never fun but being restricted to light activities, such as found at your Model Desk is a nice side benefit! ;)
Enjoy your "down" time, and your Albatros, by the way, is looking really spectacular. The engine detail is top notch!
Cheers,
Lance

Jorg,
This is continuing to be an excellent build! Your engine work and the fuel tank are both outstanding! Lovely wood work also.

Hello Hello,
Thanks for the answers and encouragement.  ;D
Today it goes back further, a small stage on which I enter new territory again. But actually, I do that all the time, as I have already built a long time not a model. ;)
So, but now. On the following photos I have prepared the hull for the decals. So only primed, then the pre-shading and the individual fields ever applied different color gradations.
(Photos of the contrast looks pretty strong, but is not so)
Subsequently, the first Decals came up. This drives a little sweat on the forehead. One side is already quite satisfactory. The other, one sees it, does not fit the one Decal really good.
Now I have to decide the decal again down, or hoping, the oil color and the finish comes back into balance with the layer. Maybe yes cover other decals that "vulnerability" from?
Maybe someone here has a tip on how to get back down as a decal?
But i think, however, that it is not so simple.

And Michael,
When did you work at the Theater des Westens ? I now live not far from there. From 1988 to 1994 I was there more often. Since I work at the fire department, I was there a few times as a Fireguard.
Perhaps we met. ;)

Thank you and very kindly regards!

Jörg

I like your application of the wood tone decals. As for the question about patching where the decal is too small I am afraid I don't have the answer. I have not used the Uschi wood grain. Hopefully someone who has will have some good advice?

Hello,

I hope I have made up my mind not too much. ::)
On my first model for some time also the same to make a building report.
So do not be angry if it sometimes does not work out, to document each step.
It must set priorities sometimes.
Thats why i make the Photos after applying the oil glaze
When the paint is dry, then there's the finish and sealer.

So long and have a nice weekend.
Jörg

Hi everybody,

I was a bit busy again and began the landing gear.
All primed, then with "Iron" by Mr Paint painted. After this with the desired color. I made the intermediate step with Iron, so I then with a sponge the top Color thing can grind so then the "metal" shines through.
Although Do not know if that always fits in the original. but the effect has worked quite well.
Then I got to talk some parts put together, as you can see in the photos. For this purpose, again the engine in detail.

I wish you all a pleasant week ever!

Best regards
Jörg
