Another "run" on this one would be nice; I suspect a large number went to the non -building "Hoarder" crowd! Gone in record time!
Cheers,
Lance

A retailer on another forum said it was a very small production run. Weta have a few still, got one from there last week.  HLJ have some but they are more expensive.

I missed the original issues so snagged one of these, made sense cost of two aircraft and you can build DV’s or DVa’s. Glad i snagged one.
Now if only they’d bring out the RE8 with a DVII

I was interested but the finances just weren't there. On the other hand I have 2 built and one under way so I really can't complain. I would imagine we will see this Money Cow of a kit in another incarnation in the future, whether the Long Awaited Special Editions or as a Duelist!

i agree, they'll be back. maybe more Jasta editions, like a Jasta Boelcke or something.

i've been lucky, this Great Dying Off of Wingnut Wings Kits is happening just when my biggest client had decided to rebuild every rack of servers they have in Thailand... chaCHING! so yeah. food? nah. water? a bit. sleep? nah. more kits? oh Hell yeah.

Dying off of Wingnuts? What's going on?

And what are the special edition kits people sometimes allude to!

All Wingnut wings models are limited run, you wouldn’t know it from the quality. Once done and oop then they are done. Or so we are told. They do turn up in Duelist runs but don’t count on the one you want being released....

Now when they Wingnut Wings  first started there was a quote saying that they would reissue in special editions with more photo etch etc. But so far that’s never happened.
That’s kind of why some buy all the releases, as if they do sell out and you wanted say the Sopwith Triplane.. Well your out of luck...
Honestly though you have to wonder at the cost of such high end molds, I suppose some bad sellers may never come out again, but I don’t see that being a good businesss model for all of them.

I just want the RE8 and Triplane to come out again ;)

I doubt that. The quality of the pieces suggests high quality moulds. Things that WnW invested a lot of money into. Therefore re-releases are likely. Releasing the kits on a limited basis is a way to drive up demand.

How many of us who missed the RE 8 and Triplane, etc., the first time around, are now foaming at the mouth for one? I know I am.

i agree... no matter how much they intend to stick to their principles they'll do repops of popular kits. it's just not rational to leave piles of money on the table.

Next up: Black Flight Trilogy please...

which Collishaw bio? i just read one too.

i'm a go forward with a Black Flight using Roden kits and aftermarket fuselages. that'll surely prompt WNW to release it as soon as i finish...

This set is still available in New Zealand - Modelair in Auckland (I have no association with them except as a customer). They also have several other long ago "sold outs" - Fokker's and others - but at a serious premium - $250NZD for the Fokker's.

Cheers
Alistair

I did indeed just pick up this set through Weta, I sat on the fence for a long while with this one, even after a certain someone mentioned that they had been told that this kit was a considerably smaller size run than most Wingnut kit runs.
Anyway, all is not lost if you want this kitset, if you are quick........
