1/72nd Short 184 by Wayne McCullough: FINITO!!!!!!
« on: February 20, 2017, 05:11:17 PM »
After a couple of nights rigging, here she is.  I have left of lots of rigging in the name of sanity, but this does sure give an overall impression!

I did try and add some bombs...but they looked nasty.  I had a hard time making them look right.  I also am not quite sure if the rear gun is supposed to be there, but I like the way it looks!

I may try a larger scale WWI model in paper next.  Stay tuned...

Thanks for looking,

Dan

Wow Dan, outstanding looking model.  Cannot believe this is a paper model.  Congratulations.

Very well done Dan resulting in an attractive looking model. Very poor design having the radiator smack dead in front of the pilot and his line of vision, I guess the people who designed this aeroplane had no intentions of ever flying it, they just left that job to someone else  :o ??? ???

Thanks Des et al.!

Yes...it seems they put lots in front of the pilot and hoped for the best.  Although, you can's see squat out of the front of the Spirit of St. Louis and Lindy made it to Paris.  I guess they don't make pilots like they used to. ;-)

Thanks again for all of your encouragement.

Dan

That's awesome, Dan!  The 184 is a beast in any scale, but in paper it had to be a real challenge keeping those long wings so straight.  Congratulations on such a fantastic job.
Cheers,
Bud
