Good day everyone. Here are a few pics of a Wingnut Wings kit that I had initially bought as one of my first from that company. It was the DH2 kit announcement that basically had me switch to 1/32 WnW kits back in 2012 and I have not looked back. This model was built to represent DM Tidmarsh's aircraft of 24 Sqn. April 1916. Pretty much out-of-the-box save for the wiring on the engine and syringe needles for the push-rods. The figure is from Model Cellar, and is probably representative of a bit later in the war. Thanks for looking!
Cheers,
Gary

Congratulations Gary, this is a superb representation of the DH.2 which is one of my favorite WW1 aircraft. The overall finish on this model is spectacular and you have done an excellent job with the rigging. The figure is the finishing touch and is perfectly painted, together with the DH.2 they make a very impressive show.

Hi Gary,
Excellent!
Very good job, chapeau!
Can not wait to have my own kit here. But it´s still missing on the way to me. :'(
This version is also my favorite.
Kind regards

It is always great to see a model of DH.2. Especially when it is so well done as yours. Beautiful, fine shading, and that maze of rigging wires. A pleasure to behold.

Top notch!

Gary,
Wow! You sure have some beauties tucked away in your collection, that's simply outstanding! I hope you bring a bunch to the Regional Show this late May, I'd really enjoy seeing them.

Cracking build.

Thanks to all who have had a chance to look at the pics and I appreciate the very kind feedback. I realize I've used the small EZLine thread for all of the flying, landing and other rigging wires which more or less gives a "look" of how the rigging appears. A more true rendition would be to use the flat thread for the appropriately shaped lines, but I just wasn't happy with the look of the material I ordered from WnW, and I'm reluctant to try the P.E. products from others. There's nothing worse than sagging or otherwise crooked rigging lines on a model!
Cheers,
Gary

This is good work, Gary -
I would not worry about the rigging material personally. It does not matter as long as it is rigged with something just to the give the visual impression of bracing wires.
