Polish Dolphin//CSM//1:48
« on: October 23, 2016, 03:07:02 AM »
Hello,

Somebody complained on lack of Dolphin’s here, so thanks to MeliusManu (www.meliusmanu.pl) I am pleased to start up new thread concerning WW1 polish wings history. This time I am going to perform Sopwith Dolphin, rather not popular in those days, which in 1920 were dispatched in two batches to new born Polish Air Force. First 6 aircrafts were directed to Lvov. Unfortunately just after the shipment the directive of instant withdrawal from the use was the consequence of the statement that Dolphins were dangerous for the pilot. Due to the lack of equipment and bolshevik inroad on the Europe, orders were amended and Dolphins added to Polish Forces. 21.02, 21.03, 21.05, 21.06, 21.07, 21.010 came from Lvov departure. 21.01, 21.04, 21.08, 21.09 came from Gdansk and being held in Warsaw
Short in box od standard version reveals  2 sprues, PE part, decals for 2 markings. Within premium you will get the engine, metal exhausts and 4 marking version to apply

I have received decals for premium version

You have to be aware of cutting upper wings off the sprue as it is very fragile

Would suggest paying the attention to the cutting of cowling as well. The ammunition feeds constitute the overall part of it

The injection marks will not be spotted after assembly so you do not have to remove them

regards
K

Hope will reach your expectations :)
Being little indecisive I have decided  to get rid of front injection marks

Initial paint layer was applied and PE work started

Thx
ATTN: pls curve the PE part in the line with pic below. There is small error in the manual.

I did it wrong and must alter now

The bracing wires have turned out quite nicely! It looks like you managed to correct the mistake on the PE instructions.

Hello again,
The work in the fuselage went very smoothly. Everything fits without any additional workload!. Pls look in to the pilots seat from PE part, is highly detailed and look really good. The main and auxiliary fuel tanks have nice detailed inlets as well. Now I will focus on the engine and Vickers assembly.
