Cabane struts on Pfalz D-III
« on: October 01, 2014, 08:17:00 AM »
One of the Pfalzes I'm planning to build will have it's wings removed. Considering the cabane struts are attached to the fuselage with ball & socket joints, would the struts stand up straight when the upper wing is removed, or would they fall down on each side of the fuselage??

I didn't find any pictures showing this. On all pix I found, when the upper wing is removed, the struts are removed as well.

Thanks. if you refer to the pic showing uncovered inner structure, it seems to be a portion of this one which can be found in the WD about the D-III. Apparently the upper wing is still in place:

However, I also found a lot of interesting details regarding the cockpit arrangement in the WnW instructions, so thanks!
