Very nice progress, this is a good looking kit and a good looking build. It will be very helpful when I get around to doing this one.

Thanks, Zac and Nigel.

Puma for Spetsai assembled awaiting the wash to stain it and bring out the details.

Looking very good, the extra pipe work adds to the realism.

Thanks.

Some more work.
The engine test fit into the fuselage but it will be mounted only after all airbrushing is done to ease the masking. The exhausts tips moulded as solid had to be drilled out. And the upper engine cowls which I will have in open position - thinned down for a better realism.

More preparations. The camo scheme drawings from the kit instructions scaled to 1/32, mirror imaged for the tape to be attached overleaf and cut and corrected at few spots basing on the photos of Spetsai kindly provided by Spyros.
Also, the control surfaces armed with wire inserts to reinforce the joints.
And Tamiya acrylic paints for the camo acquired  :)

Love following along with this build… beautiful and elegant work as always, PrzemoL. What did you use to paint the engine?

Thanks, David for your kind words.

For metal bits I am using Vallejo acrylics from Metal Color range. Here I mixed Dark Aluminium with Silver.

Today just a small step - a handful of control horns, cleaned and armed with self-twisted eyelets.

A small step, perhaps, but done with your usual sense of fine craftsmanship.

I was friends with the late Leo Opdycke from WWI Aero magazine, who built a 1:1 Bristol Scout in his basement over a period of about ten years. I asked him how he managed to do it once and he said “I made sure I did something on it every day. Sometimes it was just cutting out a rib or drilling a hole in a fitting, but I always managed to do something.”

And just think, the best part is that you won’t have to knock a hole in your basement wall in order to get the D.H. out like he did with his plane!
