More preps

The floats armed with PE covers for inspection openings and strut fittings, the tail support trestle mounted with a small adjustment from plastic pieces, tail surfaces with wire inserts for reinforcement of joints and plastic replacements for control horns, also the aileron arch horns replaced with plastic (the kit PE parts are far too thin for my taste). All the horns are reinforced with wire inserts and they will get the hinged turnbuckles after painting.

Now for rigging stations!

Real good work. For me I have learned that the prepatory work is most annoying but essential for a nice end result.

Thank you for watching and commenting.

The holes for rigging drilled, but more importantly the geometry is taken care of.

It is not a big deal, Rick. You just need the scale drawings, they can be copied, glued on the cardboard, then some work with scissors and paper glue. Well, in the previous life I built a couple of cardboard models, but who did not when at school?

Here the problem is that the scale drawing in Herris book have some problems with scale. So, instead of these, I used the SVK sketches with measured dimensions, also included in the book.

Those struts look like they will be fragile once finished . Are there a metal rod running through the strut or did you add the pins ?

All the struts in this kit are with wire inserts, Alexis. The majority has the brass pieces, but some, including the side elements of these Ns have steel wire bits. I am pretty confident they will do their job, these Ns are quite stiff.

Thanks for the reply Prze  :)

Not a fan on resin struts depending on their placement do to sage over time , the rods will stop this . Another question if you don't mind . What is the overall weight of this kit ? I haven't work with 3D resin ...I'm still old school  ;)

But this kit is mainly composed of the old school resin. Even if the parent elements were 3D printed. The really 3D printed elements are the Benz, beaching cart wheels, cabane struts, spinner, propeller, exhaust, and a coiple of minor details. The bulk of the model is ordinary resin.
And I have finally managed to replace the batteries in a kitchen weight. So especially for you:
fuselage 47g
floats 105g
wings 128g
tail and struts 11g
 ;)
