Post by: Jamo on November 10, 2014, 07:12:21 PM
We had our annual IPMS club competition yesterday. Here are a few photos:

Dave Coulthard (our own KONG) had a lovely Beardmore and diorama:

This lovely little Lotus is by Paul Edwards (who also does some WWI planes):

Unknown builder, this S-Boot was tiny, about 5cm long:

1/144 Hovercraft

Just a tiny fraction of what was on the tables. Altogether a very pleasant day out chatting with modellers and enjoying all the lovely builds

Looks for looking in

Cheers
James

Nice photos, and some surprises - I was not aware that D.1154/17 had a red fuselage. In my mind i have a picture of her being nakedunpainted. And it's interesting to see a german mechanic, cockades and all, working on a Beardmore engine  ;)

I do love that Lotus.

And thank you, once more, for sharing your photos with us.

Just found out the Schnellboot is by Bronco in 1/350, built by Will Vale. He said it was an impulse buy from Ace Hobbies in Berkeley, "it turned out to be a very nice kit, not too complex, but the etch is a bit scary"

Stefan: the Albatros uses the decals from the Wingnut Wings set #30015 D.V Flying Circus. here is Ronny Bar's profile:

And if you look closely at the mechanic diorama you will find it is a Mercedes engine. The Beardmore is separate.

Hell yes. Jamo, you are right (as so often). I should have looked more closely at the engine itself.

But this is why i am happy to be part of this forum: you can learn something new every day, if you want to. Now i know that Max Müller's D.1154/17 might have been red at some stage of it's life or other - i only knew the photo that is included in WNW's instructions.

Thank you for correcting me.

Stefan
