French engine built in 1908. Water-cooled and direct fuel injection.

Thank you Jacek for posting these pictures of the incredible engine, do you know what horse power this engine created, and the "paddle" propeller is also very intriquing.

Direct fuel injection in 1908? News to me.

Capacity 8,0 l. Rated at 60 hp.
Designed by Leon Levavasseur. Each of cylinders has a separate injection carburettor. Worth mentioning is the cooling system, using water evaporation in the cylinder jackets. Due to a fuel supply installation and cooling complexity, the engine was not recognised by its users. It powered the aircraft bearing the same name.
