I think I saw this one on Hyperscale. I don't build 1/72nd but it still was tempting  ::)

The very same! I build 1/72 exclusively, and the temptation proved to be too much!

Well in the past couple of weeks I ordered Lifelikes Fokker DVII sheet 3 and 4, a Fokker DVII and Fokker DVII from WNW, which customs has kindly rejected and sent back, and last night a Roden Albatross D.1 and D.III along with a Montex mask for the D.I. I hope I didn't bite off more than I can chew with the Roden kits. Not really familiar with them except for the Nieuport 28 I have.

James,
I started in 1:32 Scale with the DIII. Lovely Kit however be careful with the fit of the cockpit module and closing the fuselage. I found out the hard way that the tolerances are every bit as critical as WNW in this case.
Cheers,

As the others said, Roden kits are really pretty nice. The DIII does take care in the assembly of the cockpit coaming as mentioned. I am attaching a link to the specific aircraft builds on the Albatros DIII. You will see some really nice builds using the Roden kit.

Thanks guys. Have just read KEK’s and Fokkerstaffels: The Early German Fighter Units in 1915-1916. Very interesting book and it got me thinking about those early birds. Also a friend in the Netherlands sent me the Osprey book on Albatross D.I's and D.II's which just pushed me over the edge.

Between the 2 Roden kits I would call the DI the easier build. The Pylon strut in the center makes mounting the upper wing a breeze as one can just balance the wing on the pylon and fit the interplane struts after.

Great figures!  Looking forward to seeing them painted and in place!
I shall never forget my admiration for that German pilot, who single handed, fought seven of us for ten minutes. I saw him go into a fairly steep dive and so I continued to watch, and then saw the triplane hit the ground and disappear into a thousand fragments...James McCudden

Chris,
I didn't know you did figures as well, a man of many talents. I did them when I was younger, they were lead and about 1 inch in height, kind of came out like Gummy Bears! Seriously, well done figures are a skill I've always envied, looking forward to seeing these firmly planted in your Fee and DH2.
Cheers,
Lance

Pending test ride and fair trade for my current ride.

Added extras will include:
Fog lights
Top box
Engine crash bars
Cylinder head protectors
Keyless ignition
Spoked wheels
Gear shift pro - basically you can change gear without the clutch.

I test ride her on the 24th of October. I will let you know how it goes.

Not a wingnut I grant you, but every bit as exciting   :)

You couldn't pay me enough to ride a motorbike. Give me multiple air bags and seatbelts anyday!

You couldn't pay me enough to own a car! Give me the freedom of two wheels anyday of the week and barring a blizzard, in any weather!
