So I guess I'm way out of line having just recieved my 1/32 MiG-21 which I traded for a 1/32 Mossie? I have few jets, but the -21 is for some reason an appealing aircraft; maybe it's the Alclad thing. I AM getting another Fokker though, so that should help keep balance in the universe.

A 1:48 Hasegawa bubble top Typhoon is coming my way via eBay. In my defence, I was only encouraging Dave Wilson to spend his money on the new Valiant Wings Publishing Hawker Tempest book but he turned the table on me by suggesting this kit as I mentioned in passing that I was interested in building a Tiffy. Outsmarted at my own game!  ;D

Cheers,

Chris

Freightdog Models is having a sale on selected Blue Max kits. I picked up a Halberstadt D.II, Bristol M1C, and Avro 504K for the equivalent of approximately $18 USD per kit.

I bought a small (tea strainer size) plastic mesh sieve.  The plastic will flatten easily and the "weave" of the mesh is perfect for me to use as the radiator cover for the Airfix Bentley I'm just about to start.  The kit part is embossed plastic, which is pretty poor for a kit costing almost £100.  The sieve cost 64p, about US$1.00....

Arrived yesterday:

WNW Junkers J.1 (to replace my group build failure),

Jasta Boelke. The History of Jasta 2, 1916-1918 by Norman Franks ($22.87AUD- free P&P- from The Book Depository http://www.bookdepository.com/ ), and

Whispering Death. Australian Airmen in the Pacific War by Mark Johnston ($28.68AUD- also with free P&P from The Book Depository).

Which book to start first (silly question to ask on a WWI board, innit)?

Dal.

My 1/72 DR1 sheet arrived today from Rowan. I am amazed by all the marking options included in the set. I'm going to have to grab 3 or 4 Revell DR1's now!  I love the many schemes German aircraft had, I guess that's why I'm hooked on them.

The DR1 measures around 3 inches, so I might find room to build the whole set included on the sheet! :)  Thanks Rowan!

Oh yeah, the Junkers and Brisfit came today too. ;)

Before you invest in Revells Dr.I I would suggest you to consider Eduard's kits. They are much better in my opinion, and they are also tiny!  ;)

And well, Rowan does not cease to amaze us with his offerings, every single decal set is so rich, that it makes you think of building a whole line-up of similar machines.
