Roseplane resin Spad A.2 1/72
« on: February 23, 2015, 02:20:41 AM »
This is Roseplane's resin kit of a Spad A.2 with quite a bit replaced or enhanced by parts from the excellent PART photoetch set made for the Airmodel kit.  I chose the markings carried by "S-31" which was the only French machine known to have downed an enemy aircraft when it was flown by Corporals Sabatier and Funk-Brentano on May 17, 1916, while on the strength of N-73 Squadron.

Thanks for looking!

-Dan

Stunning little SPAD, Dan!  She's truly exquisite.
Cheers,

Dan,
Next time you do this, you really need to start a build thread here and over at the 72nd Aircraft Forum.  ;) :)

I'd love to, as long as its not considered bad form to have a build thread going on multiple forums?  I've never been quite sure if that's frowned on or not.

I don't think the Miss Manners of the Model Etiquette Committee will ding you Dan.

Thank you all for the nice comments!  And thank you Alain for the additional info, I did not know that about "S-31".  I wonder if they kept it around for the same reason I chose to modeled it or if it just turned out to be a lucky ship?

Terrific work on a kit that must have been rather challenging! Just Beautiful all around !

A lovely model of an unusual type. Bet it was a bit of a pig to build especially in resin.

I too post on several sites because it reaches different audiences.

Thanks guys- I really have to admit that it went together without too many problems.  Ever have one of those projects that just rolls right along despite your best efforts to screw it up?  That's kinda how this one went.  I think Roseplane's kit was top-notch too and I highly recommend the PART PE for anyone building it or the Amodel kits.

Thanks Dan!  Nice to know you're here, I feel "at home" already.
