Very fine. The wood effect on the struts is very convincing!
Best wishes

Hello Gregory, thank you for thinking of me.

Progress is slow but good, I have taken the opportunity at weekends to fly a bit more of my radio control aircraft.

I have done a lot of reading re pre and post shading the ribs to get the right effect and have decided on white pre shading as per the photos.

I actually tried black and a subtle brown base coat between the ribs and then sprayed with red but did not like the effect, I also tried some mixing wth the red as to my eyes it seemed too bright, this will be cured with some Tamiya white mixed in.

I have also cleaned up the recesses from the engine bank covers.

Anyway painting will probably take place this Sunday so wish me luck  :)

Your SE is looking terrific! Your build is certainly tempting me to adding this to the stash in the future.

Hello Everyone

Well a bit of a milestone, main colour is down. Initially added a couple of drops of Tamiya White to the Tamiya red but this went too off white, a surprise how strong the effect was so I went back to the red straight out of the bottle.

The preshading effect has come along OK. Not quite what I wanted but acceptable ..what do you all think?

Oh ..another lesson...I cleaned and packed everything up and then I noticed it...yep two ailerons sitting there on the bench in primer saying ..... 'Paint Me'. 'Paint Me'.

Next week say I   :)

White pre'shading' under a coat of red color, that's a very good idea. Looks really great!

It's been awhile but a belated hello to everyone.

As per the usual challenge other things have taken priority recently but a visit to the Sydney Scale Show yesterday provided the final spark to get back into it. So I went straight to what I saw as the biggest obstacle, the Fueselage side marking 'A'.

( no; I had the pleasure of meeting Steve who also frequents this site and viewed his lovely Roland and Rumpler.)

After a bit of masking and some freehand painting attached is the result. It's not perfect but I think it's good enough that I can progress to next steps.

Tomorrow night I will add the roundel and spray a coat of clear and then onto the rigging ! Unresolved is how to undertake the serial number on the tail fin but I will leave that to the very last I think.

Cheers DIno
