Weta Workshop shows that the Pfalz D.IIIa is sold-out in their EU and NZ warehouses, and only a few remain in the US. If you need one for the new Pheon decals, now is the time to buy.

Weta is not the exclusive retailer of Wingnut that they used to be... their stock levels can't be indicative of the overall status of any kits stock levels...

looking at Weta's stock levels across several kits it looks to me like they're selling off their inventory and bailing. for example, Eindeckers.
their low stock is not necessarily indicative of a kit selling out. all their Pfalz are in USA; Wingnut seems to still have some for those of us for whom USA is inconvenient (me for example).
incidentally they STILL have about ten pups.

I am surprised that this kit has not sold out yet, it has been out for seven years. As far as Weta, there are many more sellers, but at least in the US, Sprue Brothers and Lost of Models have not had it in their inventories for a while. If you want one, pick one up soon (or wait a couple of years for a Duelist boxing). All of the Pups in Weta's inventory are located in the EU, so buy one if shipping cost is not an issue.

Add item to your cart until you get a "This product is out of stock" banner on top of picture. Currently 2. Just noticed they do not list the Dolphin :o

I'm glad I have a second one stashed away, a great Kit and the new references/products from Albatros and Pheon make it a popular subject. I'd say it's a "natural" for a "Duelist" boxing in future. How many have you got ferreted away, von Pfalz Pfan?? ::)

The WNW site still shows them; Sprue bros does not. Section 8 hobbies shows not in stock.
The J1 and brisfit seem to be living on.

Weta also have Pfaltzies, but the NZ warehouse is sold out.
it's odd that the SE5a still seems plentiful. probably this is because the Roden SE5a is one of their better efforts, and its availability diminishes any FOMO.

But there's the Roden Pfalz D. III which can be built into a nicely looking model, as many builders here have proved.

Now sold out @ Weta and WnW site only has 2, so probably will not be long until this one is gone too.

I would not be surprised to see the Pfalz re-emerge as a special release perhaps in the next year. Maybe it will be a duelist with some new allied two-seater or perhaps it will get the full squadron treatment like the Albatros D.V did with Jasta 5.

I like your thinking on this one. A full Jasta 10 or 4 line up would be cool ::)

Duelist with an RE8 would be nice... btw I noticed that Hobby Link Japan shows the Hanover in stock... everywhere else they are no longer available. In case anyone is looking for one.

it's official. the Pfalz D.IIIa is sold out.
i *might* have scored the last 2, if my order went though. they took my money for two, but haven't fulfilled the order yet so i am counting no chickens.
also, the 'fill your cart with 10 or more' trick is not working anymore. i was able to put 300 in my cart just before they sold out.
based on that trick the J.1 will be next to sell out, or maybe the Hisso SE5a.

Based on Weta listing the Hisso SE5a as "Sold Out", this may be the next one to sell out.

i don't trust Weta, according to them they've sold out of the Dolphin. last i checked the J.1 showed 11 remaining at WNW so i think that's next. but if you bet on the Hisso, i wouldn't bet you. i wonder if Weta are phasing out WNW distribution?
i got a confirmation email about my two Pfalzies, so i'm cautiously optimistic i got the last two. it would be a rather shoddy operation if they sent a confirmation and then followed it the next day with "oops" so i remain optimistic.
if i got 'em i'll most likely build as Degelow's and Berthold's but i may change my mind and go for Rudolf Stark's, as i quite liked his book and he did most of his wet work in the Pfalz (and Dr.1).

I'm selling a WNW Pfalz D.IIIa (see under 'Buy, Sell, Trade)...now more rare since it's 'out of production'!

Jason, your thread's gone so i'll assume you sold your Pfalzie within about 5 minutes of posting.
turns out i got the last Pfalzie from WNW, but only one of two. i did manage to find a reasonably priced Pfalz and got a tentative agreement to sell to me from the owner for a second one, and also found out that Rudolf Stark flew a D.III, not just two D.IIIas. so i'll go Roden for that, and that's Berthold, Degelow and Stark sorted.

i think i just sorted out my second Pfalz, but the guy i'm buying from will be on a business trip for a couple weeks. may be others looking to swap for them or buy 'em though.
if my Pfalz pfalls through i'll ping you and see if you still got 'em, thanks!
