Forgive my ignorance, but is the DVI an unmodified DrI fuselage with a shortened  DVII wing?
It looks like a project I might consider.

pretty much thats what a d.vi is. ive heard a few say there are minor differences in the fuselage but in 1/48 scale i dont think you could notice. and the wing is a shorter version of a d.vii with the same cord and "N" shaped struts so if you have one of each kit you can do a kitbash as martin is doing and come out fine.

like Datafile was fuselage similar the Dr 1 and I have like the firstpictures the wings cut and glue.

The Lozenge is on the fuslage.
The next will be the black and white colour on it and to build the two MG.

I had some trouble with painting the white and black stripes on it.
The fuselage is repaird and the first winghalf is glue to it.

After the wing is dry I see that it was not in a correct angle. I take it away and sand again.
Now I have corrected the wings and glue to the fuselage in the right angle.
On the upper wing is the under Lozenge ready only the tapes are not on it. Will come later.
The machine guns are ready.
