wondefull wonderfull wonderfull! I will be watching this with pop corn and beer from the first row :) Recently I found your Gotha GV conversion that had an unfortunate ending and I was amazed by the skill, effort and techniques you put into the build, so I expect no less from this one, BUT with happy ending this time :)
Best regards and keep up the good work,
Sasho

Splendid as always!!! Did you make your own photoetched base plates for the engine cylinders?
-
Ron,
Outstanding work on the engine and wing! Your Talents are as amazing as all of the others who post in this section. I am looking forward to your progress!!

Hi Ron!
I'm also planning to build Balilla in similar scale (1/33) but using veneer and japanese paper (or maybe canvas) so I'll be watching Your work. Engine looks great! What paint scheme are You planning for Your Balilla?
-
Splendid as always!!! Did you make your own photoetched base plates for the engine cylinders?
Yes i drew them up myself and then send the to be etched.

Fuselage is redone 3 times until i was happy, hard to make this one but its spot on according to the factory drawings i got from italy.
If you conpare them to the data file drawings they are different then the factory ones so beware using them in scratch build projects.

Here i started to make a mold for resin top using styrene plastic, it has to be right the first time since the mold cant be used again.
(http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h322/Ronkootje/Ansaldo%20Baillia%20A1%201%2032%20Scratch%20build/DSC_0010bewerkt_zps1b47b6eb.jpg) (http://s1104.photobucket.com/user/Ronkootje/media/Ansaldo%20Baillia%20A1%201%2032%20Scratch%20build/DSC_0010bewerkt_zps1b47b6eb.jpg.html)
here is the mold complete and filed with resin and placed in a pressure chamber to get the air bubbles out.

Here is the finished block of resin witch will be shaped accordingly lots of sanding and scraping so respirator on since resin is not good for the lungs

Incredible work Ron. Having just reviewed your progress from the very beginning I now fully understand how you produce some of the wonderful After market accessories I've enjoyed using lately. This is really neat stuff! 8)
Cheers,
Lance
-
That was very interesting to see how you used resin to make an upper decking for the fuselage. In God's Own Scale I would have moulded it, but in this scale that would be much more difficult. The standard of your modelling, engine and fuselage, is better than first class. In fact I cannot find words to express it!
-
Incredible work on the engine Ron, and to see how you make the top decking is amazing, you are a true craftsman.
Des.
-
Well, Ron, your engine is easy enough to understand... lots of very precise work with the stock materials and photo-etching. I used to make surfboards, so your wings and fuselage upper deck shaping didn't tax my brain too much. However, your method for measuring out and creating the resin mold for the upper fuselage went right past me like a professional tennis serve. I think I'll have to look at that for awhile and see if any light bulbs pop in my head. Amazing work!
-
Just awesome Ron...
-
Absolutely fantastic Ron, I'm really enjoying your updates! Some time ago I found you Gotha GV conversion build and was just WoW, too bad it was wrecked. Now this project is even better
Best regards,
Sasho

Thanks for the suport guys! long progress but worth it at the end :D

wow ron, you will get some sales on this kit. the masters look great.
Kit ?, Kit ?, who said anything about a kit?
-
i think ron did. he started a resin casting project a while back and asked for suggestions. he made some stuff for aviattic. and i distinctly remember him saying he was working on a 1/32 ansaldo balilla. why else would he bother to make molds and cast the masters? if it was a 1 off project just put together the parts and paint it right. perhaps i am wrong?
-
Spectacular scratch building....
And I think I would seriously consider buying a copy of the possible kit...
-
Wow, this is just jaw-dropping! And I thought my scratchbuilds were "quite ok". :D
My hats off to you, great job!
-
Hello to all,
I'll get blind seeing a so much awesome work. That's great !! I understand this is a master for a resin model, I'm right ? So I'll buy it.
Best regards.
Alain.

Hi Ron,
I can't say how much I admire your skills. This is again extra-terrestrial craftmanship. Since I handmade a few tiny little parts and looked at the results of them, my admiration started growing and growing for the people in this section. Stunning, words fail me!
Kind regards

The latest reports were that they were hoping for a mid year release, but with any manuacturing project there are always unexpected delays.
Des.
-
Great news Richard, looking forward to seeing the finished kit. I will not commit at this stage without knowing the price, the currency exchange rate is really having a huge impact in my purchasing at the moment. Hopefully by the time the kit is released the Aussie dollar may have strengthened a bit.
Des.

Like Des already have say, I also want to know the price, before I hit buying. :)

Thanks Richard, please put my name on your list as a potential buyer.

-
you might host your pictures elsewhere, so I can see what your up to...being curious..!

Thanks guys could not have done this with the help of all the guys/girls that where involved.
Iam looking into the picture hosting Foto bucket did a nice trick holding all my pics on forums ransom for 400 euro per year I have no problem paying for service but not in a way FB did this with no anouncement in front.
This means i have to change all the links in my build logs or pay the 40 euro per mounth :s I am not confident enough to pay it now fearing they go bankrupt with this change they made.
