The final gallery of my RE.8. Probably I would not have built this model if it was not for the duellists boxing with Halberstadt Cl.II. I was not fully convinced to it until I started building it and then I also started to like the quite complex structure with lots of rigging and the seemingly ungainly look. Well, here it is, the mount of Armstrong and Mart from AFC 3 Sqn, dated June 9th, 1918 when they took as prisoners the crew of Halberstadt Cl.II and their aircraft.

This is another work of art! I would swear it was a 1/16th scale scratch built museum piece
and not 1/32nd. Thanks for sharing your build.

You never disappoint with your builds, Prze.
Beautiful build of an iconic aircraft.
Cheers,
Bob ;)

Wonderful build log and a super completed model. As Bob has written, your models never fail to inspire and I too could be easily convinced that this is a much larger scale than 1/32.

Already finished? :o
Wow, this birds looks nice! I like it, really!
Absolutely clean and careful work, a huge amount of details and a beautiful rigging.
Again a WNW model which talks to me: "Come to the dark side of scale!" ::)
Thank you very much for showing this beauty!
Cheers,
Frank

Beautiful model, wonderful painting and attention to detail. Where do you get such motivation for models: D, I got stuck on my own and somehow I can't finish them. Once again, congratulations on completing the "beautiful" aircraft and great performance.

That is an amazing build. very clean, very nice !!

Magnificent Prze, words fail me! Great detail, so clean, and the rigging as already stated is perfect. I keep going back and viewing the close ups of the tail area rigging and control lines, a perfect illustration of how it should be done. Hats off to you, another tremendously well done production!
Cheers,
Lance

Thank you, everyone for all that overwhelming cheering. I am really flattered and glad, that you like this model.
Where do I get motivation? Well, I simply like a lot that feeling when the completed model leaves the bench and joins the others in the cabinet. It makes me build to the end, to feel that thrill again and again.
And then, besides this, I notice the signs of real addiction. I simply have to sit everyday for at least a couple of minutes at the current build. If I do not, then I feel annoyed and even aggressive... Well, it is my Christmas time confession, I hope that at least some of you will understand...

Beautifully done P. Another mini-masterpiece that I enjoyed following.

Another extremely nice build. Your finish makes a reserved scheme interesting.

Damn, Przemol, this would be a masterpiece if you didn't have so many already!

As I'd mentioned on FB, your model is superb and truly inspirational. Every detail is well executed, and I must congratulate you on a really nice model. We read your explanation on "motivation" and quite enjoyed your words.

Outstanding build!
What a masterpiece.
Thanks for posting.

Thank you all for your kind words.
As for my 72nd scale builds, I am afraid this is a fading branch. I fell in love with larger scale, with weakening eyesight being mostly to be blamed. However I am just completing a small side build, not a ww1 subject unfortunately but it will appear soon in the off topic builds section. And then back to the larger scale with the brand new resin Sopwith Baby from Lukgraph.

Excellent build and, as usual a great reference for future projects. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for dropping in and leaving all those kind comments.

It's amazing how something so ungainly can look so beautiful! Very well built and painted - you set the bar high!

I just checked the build log as well, a magnificent model! I still think this is one of the most ugly aircraft that ever took to the skies in WWI, but building-wise I can see it's attraction. Will you finish the Halberstadt as the other Duellist half?
-
Thanks, Fredrik and Jeroen.
Will you finish the Halberstadt as the other Duellist half?
No, Halberstadt is planned in Polish markings. I would do the same with RE.8 if we had one here :)
-
Yes, I understand the attraction :) I have a WnW Pfalz that I want to do as the sole example that was interned in The Netherlands in mid 1918. I'm just not sure if I'm going to do it with the orange circle markings or as it was when it landed. There are pretty good photograhps of both conditions. But first I need to finish some other (1/72) projects :)
I look forward to the Halberstadt in due time!
