Thanks for checking in Xan.

You can find an assortment pack of those in different sizes, I would get those.

https://www.amazon.com/Value-Pack-10-Pc-Foam-Paint-Brush/dp/B003UHJDAS

I probably need to show a step by step process as the effects don't always require a foam brush.

Some of that wood graining is just excellent.
There are only two states to be in:  Queensland and blotto.

Evening builders,

This hardly counts as a true update, but I was pretty pleased with the outcome. The wood process was explained earlier, the grey green is hand painted from Vajello and the wash is Tamiya Dark Brown Panel Liner.
Still needs a flat coat and the wash my be too dark for some, but in shadow, at the back of the engine it should be just fine.

Taking a break from simulated wood, I started the engine construction.
I have a the PE HGW/ Eduard ignition harness en route and should have it today, more work after I get that installed.

Thanks RAGIII, do you recall how tightly the lower wings fit into the fuse?

Will the wing root fit into the contoured notch on the fuse sides, did you have to clean it up a bit to fit tightly?

They are like the rest of the kit a tight fit. During my build there was some discussion on slightly sanding and or scraping the root portion to get the right dihedral. It started on this page of my build log.

There were also other comments in either Trackpads, GazzaS build or another about removing a tab. Can't remember for sure but others might.

One other thing that was probably just my build. I found that the dihedral turned to anhidral depending on which wing I inserted first. Test Fit SEVERAL times before gluing!

Since I'm doing just the same model ... plus it's my first WnW and biplane ... I'm greedy looking at your post, I used the same set of HGW but I found that the electrical wiring in PE being flat are ugly but the rest is fine, I thought to use the plates with the information on the engine to give a little 'texture and then glue on the decals of the kit ... hoping that has the desired effect
