Outstanding Rick.  The Albies offer a great variety of modelling options and the one you chose looks superb.

Hello Rick:

For a simple scheme this Albatross really looks neat.  You did an outstanding job on this one Rick.  Looking forward to seeing her buttoned up.

Everything about your Albatros is quite stunning Rick, from the wood grain to the lozenge, the rigging and the tail stripes, they all add up to a remarkable looking model.

Des.

Thanks Des, I always appreciate your input!

This is such a beautiful piece of work, Rick. It sets such a high standard and something to which I can only aspire.

Nigel,

Ian, thanks and as I have said the scheme is appealing(to me), for the contrasts in colors and finishes.

Thanks Mark. I think the combination of the wood, and black and white are really complimented by the Lozenge.

Martin

Thanks Martin. I have appreciated you following along on my Dual build!
I am now in the final phase of the rigging. I need to replace the cover plates on the lower wing undersides( removed because I was once converting this to a DV), then paint the prop and this one will be ready to join the Snipe in the display case.

been a few weeks since i checked in on this one. snipe and albatros both looking really great. i am sure the albatros was more work with the lozenge and woodgrain, turned out really great though.

Hello Rick,

Your build log(s) of your two beauties has been a real revelation for me. I admired all the way your modeling abilities so much. I really cannot point out one phase or part of the build that wasn't extremely well done. It was such a pleasure for the eye and I could learn so much of it. I am so full of admiration of your color painting capacities. The wood parts of the Albie were breathtaking. I could go on and on but I would describe it in one word : fabulous work my friend!

Kind regards
Patrick

Sorry Rick but I have not been keeping up with this one. That is one really fantastic Albie - the colours are really impressive, especially the wood, and the overall standard of the model is just…well…what can I write? Brilliant!!

Patrick,
I greatly appreciate your very kind and somewhat exaggerated comments! You have become what I consider to be a VERY good Internet friend and I hope to see another of your builds here soon!

The Last two photos on the build thread:

Everything is pretty much done now. I can do some more but this may come after the Fokker DVII GB!
I hope you have enjoyed my process!

HI Rick:

Two outstanding builds.  Where did you get the decals for the Albatros?  I like that combination.

Best
