Hello together,
Thank you very much for your kind comments.
Thank you also for visiting the build report.
Some of the details - not all - can be seen through the cockpit opening.
I did not mount an open maintenance hatch or similar on the model.

We turn back to the right side of the cockpit.
In the only original image available to me, a part of the throttle quadrant is still visible.
This is used to regulate the mixture and the carburetor via two different levers.
On the model, unfortunately, one looks for this in vain - there are no parts for it in the box.
So scratch build again.
Again I used Wingnut waste plastic.
Small files, drill, sandpaper and a lot of patience.

First, the original image.

This is where the carving begins.

The two levers for mixture and carburetor regulation were made of the same plastic.

The two levers are actually mounted movably, but this had a rather negative effect later on.
I ended up gluing them on.

A little paint on it and the throttle quadrant could be installed in the cockpit.

With the longer lever on the outside the carburetor is regulated.
With the short lever the mixture is regulated.

The mixture controller.
A small but very complex component.
I have scratch built several mixture controllers, but was not so satisfied with the results.
One of the selfmade regulators consisted of more than 15 parts - tiny parts.
That was unmanageable in the end.
The parts broke between the fingers  ::)
I had already gotten used to the idea of doing without this component, until by chance I found the exact right part,
in the box of the CSM-Nieuport XVII.
Only a "special holder" had to be made so that it could be mounted in the cockpit of the Morane.

In order for the mixture regulator to be mounted in the correct position, it had to be ensured that it was not in the way of any other component.
Here is the inspection view through the fuselage opening for the two intake pipes.
There is very little space between the intake manifold and the mixture control.

As linkage from the lever to the mixture control I used a 0,15mm thick copper wire.

Now the fuel line is routed from the mixture regulator to the carburetor.
I used copper wire 0.2mm thick here.
The wire was annealed over a candle flame so that the wire is easier to bend.
The connection points on the carburetor were drilled with a 0.3mm drill so that the wire (the fuel line) could be inserted.

That was all for today.
See you soon

I continue to be amazed at your scratchbuilding skills, Bertl. Taking lumps of plastic and creating very realistic miniature parts from them. And your painting & weathering makes them look the part. Do you get it right first time? I typically make three little things before even one of them is the correct shape/size  ;)
Cheers,
Gary

I just don't know what to say anymore.

You scratch microscopic parts from left over sprues. I took me 7 tries to get the parts for my tailplane right and I used a truck load of Evergreen in the process.

I think you could build three aircraft from what's in my scrap box now.

What Willem said, and then some. Like him, I'm out of superlatives for this build.

Very nice work.  Soon there will be no more room for details in the cockpit!

Hi Gary,

First, thanks for your kind comment.
Now to your question:
Most of the scratch built parts will work on the first try, but these are usually the larger parts like compass, throttle quadrant, air pump etc. .
Smaller parts can take three, four or more tries  ::)
There are also days when it doesn't matter which part you try, nothing works  >:(
Then it is best to try again the next day.
