With the onset of a lot of new WW1 armour kits especially tanks and guns, this board is dedicated to the armour that was used during WW1, tanks, guns vehicles etc. You can post pictures of your completed models or you can start a topic with a full build log of your kit, this board is strictly for WW1. I will also include WW1 ships in this board, photos of your completed ship or a ship build log will all be welcome. Also included here are figures associated with WW1 but not necessarily aviation figures. Please direct any questions to the forum administrator.

I just bought a Takom's Krupp 21 cm Mörser 10/16 and I'm planning a diorama (involving Italian infantry conquering a gun emplacement ;)) and you come up with this wonderful news!

Now that's good news, Des. Only this morning I was at the model shop in Limoges admiring the Takom Krupp 21 Morser 10/16. It looks a beauty.

What I was thinking is that this very site is becoming THE site for all WWI modelling, not 'just' aircraft.
And this is very amazing considering that is all due to the love, hard work and dedication of just one person! So a BIG thank you Des! :D

Thank you for doing this Des. One thing I liked about the old WWI Modeling List was that it was for WWI, not just a/c, although just about every one there built a/c. However, almost everyone there also had WWI interests other than a/c. As much as WWI has grown of late, we're still a small niche. I'd hate to exclude anyone because their favorite subject on the bench didn't fly.
I'm no shippie by any means, but I'd welcome a ship maritime section as well as I love to see what the shippies are doing!

Many thanks for adding this board Des. WW1 armour is growing in popularity with mainstream plastic manufacturers such as Takom, Master Box and ICM producing a tempting array of tanks and WW1 figures.
Adding this board to the Forum further cements the Forum's reputation as THE go-to place for all WW1 modelling subjects,.

This is what I am aiming for George, the forum will still be primarily WW1 aircraft and the name of the forum will remain the same, but having the section dedicated to WW1 armour, artillery, vehicles and ships will allow non aircraft builders to join in the fun.
Mathias - yes, it is okay to post dioramas as long as it pertains to the board subjects, that is WW1 armour, artillery, vehicles (any WW1 vehicle) and ships (any water craft used in WW1)

After finishing my Roland C.II, my interests turned to warships. I have read a number of excellent books on the Naval WWI and can recommend some if anyone is interested. Injection moulded WWI ships are few. I suspect Combrig offers the best WWI kits, resin but from what I hear, very good. I'm working on Fujimi 1:700 IJN Fuso, laid down in 1912, launched in 1914. Would this count?

What is your attitude towards figures here, Sir?
A while back I got the ICM 'French Infantry 1914' (1/35 scale) set. I got a bit done on one before the health crisis, and expect at some point to get back to it. It is a kit, injection-moulded plastic, the figures come in many pieces and must be assembled.

First of All, "Happy New Year!"
I'm pretty sure that I already know the answer, but here's a short question. In 1917, the United States decided to build a licensed version of the French FT-17 (designated the M1917) and ship these to Europe in 1918 to equip their troops on the Western Front. In the event, none got there before the war ended. The US used them up to about 1932, then put over 200 in storage. In 1940, Canada bought 250 of these vehicles as primary trainers for the influx of volunteers.
I've just completed a model of the M1917 in Canadian service, 1941. It may be that, as the design was based on the FT-17 (as modified), the model might be posted here. Alternatively, none of them served in WW1 (although the plan was to have them do so), some arriving in late November/December of 1918.
So here's my short question: would you like to have a post showing a WW2 training tank that was based on a WW1 fighting tank? ;D
If not, no worries. Just thought I'd make the offer. 8)
