I like to use the figure painting approach. Do a base coat in acril paints, dont get too close to the edges then over paint with oils. I find oils easier to control and glide off the brush easier to get sharp edges. You can also work them to get that leathery look. Its pretty much near to last thing on the list to do though.

Nice looking model. I almost got this kit the other day, in the end I got a Sopwith Camel instead. :)

It looks like I should get one of these as well.

You're making a nice job of it.
Regards, Ken

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

got the engine fitted, and a couple of coats of matt varnish on the plane. i love the fact that a lot of the engine can still be seen and all the hard work is not hidden from view.

   Michael,
Outstanding works my friend. Is that the kit stock radiator or have you modified it? Either way I love how the meshed front appears.

Beautiful, I've been tempted to drop down to 1/48th to build one or two of these and your excellent example isnt making it easy to resist.

Interesting model. I may have to get one for myself, (eventually).

i like the shading on the sheet metal cowling panels. i made one just like it (i have the dual combo) i thought it would look neat compared to all my lozenge and bright colored dvii fokkers. i am also gonna do the camo czech one someday. nice job!
