Hello all,
In honour of our recently passed owner and administrator, Dave Wilson, we have chosen to officially launch a David Wilson Memorial Group Build, to pay tribute to Dave and honour his legacy.
Registered members of the Forum are invited to make a WW1 model in Dave’s memory and post progress updates on the special Group Build board, herein.
The GB starts on Wednesday, 01 May 2024, and finishes on Thursday, 31 October 2024, giving participants a six months’ build timeframe.
There is no need to register for the group build; simply start posting in this group build board with what you intend to build (but keep the lids on those glue bottles until the start date!).
In the spirit of this being a memorial build, there will be no prizes. The idea here is to come together as a WW1 modelling community and build in honour of Dave and his legacy.
As a side note, Dave’s favourite WW1 aircraft was the SE5a, closely followed by the Pfalz D.III. If you wish to build one of those types, I am sure that Dave would have been pleased
Group Build Rules:
1. The group build is open to all registered members of the forum. Members from all skill levels are encouraged to enter.
2. Your entry may be an aircraft, artillery, armour, vehicle, figure or ship or a diorama containing one or more of the aforementioned.
3. The model must represent a WW1 subject operational during the period 1914-1918.
4. A build log should be started as a new topic on this group build board. Though not essential, any initial photos should include proof the model has not already been started. Progress update photos should be added to your build log.
5. Any scale smaller than 1/1 scale is permitted.
6. Any building medium is permitted.
7. You can enter as many times as you like.
8. Start date is 01 May 2024 and the GB will run for six months, closing at the end of 31 October 2024.
Remember folks, participation and honouring Dave is the name of the game here. Let’s pull together as a community and honour Dave’s legacy.
Let's get to it, pip pip, chocks away chaps!
