Stunning progress, Rick! That Roden kit is an under-rated honey, and is coming together beautifully -- as twins! -- Please take your time with the painting stage, there is nothing worse that paint that peels off or goes funny! Regards, Marc.

Thanks Marc! I would say that All of the Roden kits are under-rated! That being said they are more challenging than WNW. I still have to face mounting the upper wing which is a tricky process. Also the forward fuselage / cowl panels take work, something I probably could have done better on! The painting will be a slower process as I plan to mask off at least some rib tapes, more so on the RFC bird   8)

Good progress, looks nice with all those panels.

I will be building one in 1/48 at some point  :D

I'm just disappointed that you didn't go with "The Hangman" as Bob pointed out. Why?  That was my first Enemy Ace comic, I think I was maybe eight or nine at the time.

I do love me some SPAD's!

Maybe sometime in the future. In the meantime I decided to go a different route with the rib tapes so I did the linen portions of the two in progress. I used some black basing and a mix of Tamiya paints. They look less yellowish in the photos than in reality.

Two lovely models in the making there Rick. I do like very much the extra details that you have added tot he nose. Small in themselves they add much to the finished model.

Thanks Stephen. Although not perfect they do lend to the "Look"

Thanks Hugh! Here is the end of todays session. The forward fuselage "Matching" Ripolin " color has been added to both. Funny thing although both were prepared and painted in the same way with the same paint I got just a couple of places on the Lafayette bird that had paint lifted due to masking. No big deal to touch up!

RAGIII,
Great contrast between the two colors on these Spads.

There's always a risk of suspected double or tripple vision with your builds, but now one really needs to peel ones eyes in order to make sure it isn't a double posting!  ::) Looks great though! Both of them!

Rick,
Somewhere in this thread, or another SPAD thread, I've missed what paint you're using for the fabric portions and for the Ripolin section. What are you using sir, it looks great!
