Title: Junkers D.I, Roden, 1:48 - early version
Post by: KrzysiekK on April 26, 2015, 10:29:05 PM
Hello everyone,

Really nice kit despite the decals!!
I spent lost of time trying to fix them as they started to decompose and the stage of soaking i.e too early!! Mail problem had with the biggest crosses, which still behaved like made of thick, crushy paper even after SET&SOL treatment. Thus lot of brush amendments were done and still they do not look like supposed to.
Nevertheless done my best to that project so enjoy!

Krzysztof,

great looking Junkers with great camo
problems with Roden's decal probably were not a surprise, especially applied to corrugated shell plating

Lovely, K!  Roden's decals are bad enough on a smooth, gloss surface, let alone one that's corrugated.  I admire your persistence in making them work.
Cheers,
Bud

Putting any transfers on a corrugated surface is asking of trouble……. You have done really well with those and I too admire your persistence. That is a superb model, beautifully finished.

Lovely finish K, a very nice model. My first step using Roden Decals is to get them into the furthest garbage can I can find from my desk; they are impossible! To apply them so well to a corrugated surface must have really been a tremendous challenge, well done!
Cheers,
Lance

No linen or rigging, only little wood, but still, a lovely model. Congratulations, Krzysiek!
