I got my book through Amazon and the Windsock book on order through Windsock. Still waiting on that one, hopefully by Christmas as I also have a Salmson 2A2 book on order.

My B.II is at my local Parcelforce depot awaiting VAT payment before they'll despatch it. So hopefully by Thursday I'll have my sweaty hands on it.

When I told SWMBO I needed to check it as some have apparently got mixed sprues in them she gave me an odd look of scepticism then said "Well you may as well have it then!"....Bonus even though I've promised not to start it before I finish several other projects I have on the go including my Junkers J.I (I must find my missing memory card for my camera so I can blog it too before I get too far.

Wow, my New Zealand Post donkey must have got into the chilli patch - it has actually arrived! It's a nice kit.

It seems unanimous. A hit! :)

Mine arrived today.  Great kit and love the subject matter.

Another one with 2 H sprues and no F sprues though :(

Check out the photos of the completed build on the WNW website, built by Zdenko Bugan. Jaw droppingly fantastic, even off putting

Those etched spokes look sweet as does the rest of the kit.
Lovely build and no mistake.

I'm surprised that the etched spokes look round, not flat. Maybe enough coats of paint to fill them out?

You guys amaze me.  ;) From the photos at WNW site I would not be able to tell if those spokes look roundish or squarish in the cross-section. For me they look mighty fine. But I would need to have a look at the real model to assess it properly.

Just wonder, what would you say about those on my Hannover?

George,
The kit comes with both photo-etch inserts (flat) and plastic (round) spoke wheels. These look like the plastic version to me. If true, I'll be very tempted to use the one piece plastic wheels as the spokes don't look too bad.

They are etched. If you look at lower part of the rim on the starboard one you can see a big gap / slot where the Pe sandwich hasn't quite gone to plan.

You have better eyes than I do. The etched spokes certainly don't look as flat as I thought they would. I guess I'll build both types and see which ones look best.

Rob

Yes, etched. The plastic ones are far chunkier and over scale. I know WnW are trying to include and easier option, but I doubt that anyone would use them, at least not anyone on this forum. If the etched spokes are intimidating, just do the covered wheels. They look far better.

By the way, Prze, your Hannover spokes look great! :)

Are they etched as well?

There are actually a few little faults on that build, as there always are on my own, and that's why I view such builds as inspirational, not intimidating.

I'm curious as to what faults you've noticed, RB.

I'm really not familiar enough with the B.II, but since you brought it up, my only criticisms (and this is really nit picky) is that the painting on the prop and tail surfaces is too flat. I'd like to see a touch more wood grain on the prop, and a hint of the inner structure of the tail. Maybe a bit more weathering on the tail also, to match the level of the main wings. But, again, I'm REALLY splitting hairs!

I really don't think he gets a lot of time to build them :D
