Rick, Got mine on as well, and we've chosen the same scheme. When did you sneak the gear on? Now I am definitely behind your progress! Looking very good!
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks Lance. I "snuck the gear on" on page 8 of this thread  ::) It was a trying process that defeated me so I modified the Roden DVI gear to fit the EV by cutting a slot in the axle wing  :(  The next one should be easier with Rowans jig, fingers crossed! I think I am going to strip my first wing and go with Pheons camo pattern so you will certainly get ahead of me!

Thanks Rick, I'd completely forgotten that you'd substituted the Roden struts earlier. I'm going to attempt your suggested method with brass struts if possible, more to follow! Yours looks great as is, hopefully it will prove strong enough!
Cheers,
Lance

As for strength I have at least tried balancing the wing on the fuselage and it doesn't appear to offer any fatigue in the gear. That being said I don't think this will ever be a kit that one can handle a lot. I plan to rig and decal everything but the aileron control wires prior to mounting the wing.

Looking outstanding Rick:  I will be interested to see how the PHEON wing decals work for you.  Great scheme.

Thanks for the comment Mark! As fr the wing decals my plan is to use the kit decal for a pattern. Cut it at the aileron and then match it to the Pheon cross and cut. That way I will not risk screwing up the good ones  8)

Rick,
I had great results placing the ailerons (pinned) on the wing, then sliding the Pheon Decals into position and cutting them at the hinge line once in place and "blotted down". The extra overhang then dropped down into the opening between wing and aileron with just enough "wraparound" to look complete.
I need to get a few photos onto my Build Log, the decals worked great.
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks for the heads up on your technique Lance. I may get brave enough to try it out  ::) Here is one more photo:

Great looking fuselage, Rick, and the decals suit it very nicely. Not too long and you can entirely concentrate on your Albatros D III  ;)

Thanks Amigo. I still have to get the upper wing on and in a way that it stays on  ;D
